Mondro for Mac (beta)

Beta terms

Version 4. Effective October 22, 2026.

The short version

  • This is an early, unfinished build. It can break. Keep your own copies of anything you care about.
  • Your chats, files and memory stay on your Mac unless you connect another computer's AI or turn on a tool that reaches the internet. We cannot see them.
  • You choose whether the app sends us a small daily report. It is off until you choose. A report holds counts, version numbers and a few plain facts about your Mac and how the app ran, never anything you wrote. You can read every report on your Mac, and you can change your answer at any time.
  • The version that comes after this beta sends no report.

1. What this is

Mondro Inc. ("Mondro", "we") offers a beta of Mondro for Mac (the "beta"). It is free. We may change it, pause it or end it at any time. This build stops writing and sending reports after March 31, 2027.

2. Who can join

You must live in Canada or the United States, and be an adult where you live. This beta is not offered anywhere else: if you live elsewhere, please do not install it. Install the beta only on Macs you own or control. Please share the download page, not the installer file, so each person gets the current build.

3. The software licence

The source code of Mondro for Mac is licensed under the Functional Source License, Version 1.1, with the Apache 2.0 future licence (FSL-1.1-ALv2). Mondro Inc. is the licensor. These terms do not take away any right that licence gives you.

4. Beta reports (your choice)

You choose. The first time you open the beta, it asks whether to send us a daily report. There are three answers:

  • Send a Daily Report: the app writes one report a day and sends it to us after that day ends.
  • Keep Reports on This Mac: the app writes the same report each day and never sends it.
  • No Thanks: the app writes no report and sends none.

No report is written or sent before you answer. You can change your answer at any time on the Network page in the Workshop. A report written before you chose Send is never sent.

Why. Reports tell us whether the app opens, whether it crashes, which Macs it runs on and which screens people use. We use them to find and fix problems. We may share totals with our advisers and investors, for example how many testers were active in a week. Totals hold no install identifier.

What a report holds. This is the whole list. The server adds one thing when it gets a report: the time it arrived.

  1. A random identifier for this install, made on your Mac when you first choose Send a Daily Report or Keep Reports on This Mac. If you used an earlier beta, you already have one, and it is kept. It is not an account, an email address or a hardware serial number.
  2. The app version.
  3. The macOS version.
  4. The chip generation, such as Apple M2. Never the Pro, Max or Ultra tier.
  5. The memory tier: 8, 16 or 32 GB. Never the exact amount.
  6. How many of the last 30 days you opened the app.
  7. How many chats you touched that day.
  8. Of those, how many used a staff member. Never which one.
  9. How many tool calls you approved.
  10. How many tool calls you declined.
  11. Which screens you opened, by their built-in names. Names you typed cannot appear.
  12. The model family in use: llama, qwen, gemma, hermes, gpt-oss or other. Never the file name or path.
  13. Which parts of the app failed that day, by name from a fixed list. Never the error message.
  14. How long the AI took to start, in milliseconds.

What a report never holds: any message text, file names, file contents, memory contents, staff instructions, your house map, names or addresses of devices on your network, Wi-Fi names, internet protocol addresses, your name, or anything from your Mondro folder.

How it works. The app writes each report as a plain text file in the Beta folder inside your Mondro folder. If you chose Send, it writes the file before anything is sent. The Network page in the Workshop lists every report on this Mac, newest first, including earlier days. Press Refresh to see today's report grow. A report's day runs from midnight to midnight Coordinated Universal Time, which is 5:00 PM to 5:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time, or 4:00 PM to 4:00 PM Pacific Standard Time. If you chose Send, a report is sent once, after the day it describes has ended. If a send fails, the app tries once more the next time you open it. After that, the report stays on your Mac, and Try again now on the Network page sends it. The report for March 31, 2027, the last day, is written but is not sent.

Where it goes, if you chose Send. To a Mondro function on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Ohio, in the United States. The web address is shown on the Network page and on the first-run screen. The request has no cookies, no account and no password. Like any website, the server can see the internet address a request comes from. We do not store that address with the report.

How long we keep it. Ninety days. After that, the report is folded into daily totals across all testers and deleted. A daily total holds no install identifier. On a day when only a few testers send a report, a total can be close to one tester's report.

Who sees it. People at Mondro who work on the app. We do not sell reports, and we do not give them to advertisers or third-party analytics services.

Delete your reports. Email us your install identifier (it is in every report file) and we will delete the stored reports for that install within 30 days. Changing your answer stops new reports; it does not delete reports we already have, so write to us for that. The Mondro privacy policy has the same facts in one place.

5. Your data stays on your Mac

Your chats are answered on this Mac. Mondro keeps no cloud copy of them. Your notes, files and memory are plain files on your Mac, and we cannot read them. Three things change that, and you control all three: if you connect another computer's AI, your chats, and anything you ask the AI to do, such as filing or tidying memory, go to that computer. So do the routines you schedule, even when they run while you are away. A tool you turn on can reach its own service; Mondro says so where you turn it on. And if you share the AI on your home network, other devices there can use it with the key, over a connection that is not encrypted.

6. Models from other companies

The AI models you download in the app are made by other companies. Each comes with its own licence. A model on Mondro's own list shows its licence on its card. For a model you find with the search, read the licence on its Hugging Face page. The app downloads each model from the company that hosts it. If you use a Google Gemma model, you agree to follow Google's Gemma Terms of Use (ai.google.dev/gemma/terms) and its Prohibited Use Policy (ai.google.dev/gemma/prohibited_use_policy). Do not use Gemma for anything those documents prohibit.

7. What you make

We claim no rights in what you make with Mondro. You are responsible for what you make and share. If you drop in a photo, you confirm you have the right to use it. To report a rights problem, write to support@mondrosystems.com.

8. The beta comes as it is

The beta is an unfinished product. It comes without promises that it will work, keep your settings or keep your data safe. Keep your own backups. To the extent the law allows, Mondro is not liable for lost data, lost profit or any indirect loss from the beta, and Mondro's total liability to you for the beta is limited to US$100. Nothing here limits a right the law gives you that cannot be waived. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of British Columbia.

9. Your feedback

When you tell us what you think, we may use it to improve Mondro without owing you anything for it.

10. Leaving

You can stop at any time. To remove Mondro, drag it out of Applications. Then delete the Mondro folder in your home folder, the Mondro folder in Library > Application Support, and the three folders named com.mondrosystems.mondro in Library > Application Support, Library > Caches and Library > WebKit. Tool tokens stay in the Keychain until you remove them (privacy policy, section 7). To stop reports without leaving, choose No Thanks on the Network page. To delete your stored reports, see section 4.

11. Changes and contact

If we change these terms, the app shows a notice before the next report is sent, and you can choose to stop using the beta. Questions: support@mondrosystems.com.

Versions.

  • Version 4, October 22, 2026: the beta became open, and you may share its download page; reports stop after March 31, 2027; the daily report became your choice, with three answers (Send a Daily Report, Keep Reports on This Mac, No Thanks), off until you choose and changeable at any time; nothing is written or sent before you answer; a report written before you chose Send is never sent; the first screen gained Quit.
  • Version 3, October 13, 2026: two items in the list of what a report never holds were reworded; the first screen now says the server can see the internet address; the terms now say when you can read a report, that a failed send is tried once more, and what changes when you share the AI on your home network; and the terms now also say where to find each model's licence, and that routines you schedule go to another computer's AI if you connect one.
  • Version 2, October 7, 2026: reports became required, and the choice to hold them was removed.
